After being inspired by wonderful Paris brasseries, in 1997 Tony Papas and Robert Small bone established The Boathouse on Blackwattle Bay with classic modern Australian decor presenting wooden floors, crisp white linen, solid white china and a fantastic kitchen like the galley of an ocean liner, designed specifically to handle the best seafood and produce at its peak.
Their menu offers ten different breeds of oysters, assorted crustaceans and the very best seafood of the day apart from a good choice of meat dishes, followed by a selection delectable desserts and cheese platters which you can enjoy with water views that overlook the dramatic Anzac Bridge.
Aside oysters from various regions of Australia, they have up to fifteen different varieties on the menu at any one time, their famous snapper pie, and a range of live molluscs and crustaceans. They are the only restaurant in Sydney to stock the Woolli oyster, exclusively grown in the cleanest waters in Australia.
