Headquartered in Canberra, The Australian Institute of Sport is the country's governing sports body and home to most Olympians in training.

Thredbo was established back in 1956, when the first chairlifts and lodges transformed the snowy terrain into a snow riders dream. Mountain Training Facility came up in the year 1996 and it is not just for athletes. Other facilities include pool, spa and waterslide, squash court, gym and sports hall with basketball, volleyball, badminton, netball and handball courts to name but a few.

They have a well qualified and a professionally trained staff. Thredbo's instructors not only rip the hill with skill but also communicate with flare. They can take you from those first hesitant steps on snow, to that first cranking blast.

Thredbo is a totally different and diverse alpine village at the foot of a monster mountain, with 480 hectares of wicked snow riding territory to keep you charging. There are endless outdoor opportunities from first time slides down Friday Flat, to launching air off the Bluff, or exploring the magical backcountry. Thredbo Snow Sports Little Rippers Program is for children aged 4- 6 years who want to learn to snowboard or improve on their skills in a fun group environment.
